The Anniversary Edition of Disney's "Cinderella" Has Arrived on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and More with New Extras!

I love Disney's classic animated movies, so I was thrilled to learn that Cinderella has been released in a new Anniversary Edition! I watched the movie growing up, but hadn't watched it in a long time, so it was a pleasure to revisit it again after so many years. I had forgotten about Cinderella's adorable mouse friends who play a large role in this movie as they make Cinderella's days brighter and help her get ready for the ball, all while avoiding the bad cat, Lucifer. With themes of hope and finding joy in our daily lives, it provides lessons for all of us. It was a pleasure watching Cinderella again, and I look forward to watching the extra features that explore how this classic movie was made.

About Cinderella:
This animated classic centers on kind and hardworking Cinderella, who is ordered around by her cruel stepmother, her awful stepsisters -- even the big clock in the church tower tells her when to start another day of drudgery. But they can't stop her from dreaming, and Cinderella has faith that someday her wishes will come true. When an invitation to the royal ball arrives, Cinderella is sure her time has come -- until her stepsisters, with the encouragement of Lady Tremaine, tear her gown to shreds. Just when Cinderella believes all is lost, her Fairy Godmother appears, and with a wave of her wand and “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo,” transforms an ordinary pumpkin into a magnificent coach and Cinderella’s rags into a gorgeous gown, then sends her off to the Royal Ball. But Cinderella’s enchanted evening must end when the spell is broken at midnight. It will take the help of her daring animal mice friends and a perfect fit into a glass slipper to create the ultimate fairy-tale ending.

In honor of its upcoming 70th anniversary, the timeless animated classic, Cinderella, waltzes into the highly celebrated Walt Disney Signature Collection and the hearts of a whole new generation. The enchanting tale, which showed us that dreams really do come true -- and inspired countless fans to reenact the Royal Ball and Cinderella’s infamous midnight dash -- has arrived home Digitally in HD and Movies Anywhere, and on Blu-ray™ and DVD. Walt Disney's live-action Cinderella will also be released on 4K for the first time.

The Anniversary Edition of Cinderella offers two all-new extras: Cinderella trivia and fun facts, hosted by Ruth Righi and Ava Kolker from Disney Channel’s Sydney to the Max, and “In Walt’s Words: Enhanced Edition,” a special edition of Cinderella featuring fascinating production details, original storyboards, archival photos, thumbnail sketches and transcripts throughout the feature film. Hours of classic bonus material celebrates the masterful animation, memorable music and long-lasting impact of Cinderella, showcasing Walt Disney’s core group of animators, the art of Disney Legend Mary Blair, the original demo recording of the film’s title song and Cinderella’s iconic glass slipper.

Cinderella is the ninth title to join the Walt Disney Signature Collection, which includes groundbreaking films created or inspired by the imagination and legacy of Walt Disney, featuring timeless stories and characters that have touched generations. The film takes its place alongside Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Bambi, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid.

Spotlight and Guest Post: "The Biblical Clock," by Daniel Friedmann

About the Book:
Science and religion have two seemingly opposing views of the universe’s biggest questions, such as the development of the universe, evolution of human history and prophecies that surround the End of Days. But what if the real story told you they were both right? The award-winning Daniel Friedmann, with co-author Dania Sheldon, discuss this information in their newly released book, The Biblical Clock: The Untold Secrets Linking the Universe and Humanity with God’s Plan.

In The Biblical Clock, you’ll discover:

- How does the six-day creation account link with science’s 13.8-billion-year timeline?
- How do world history, Genesis, and the End of Days fit within the context of God’s Plan in heaven?
- How does the fossil record match the sequence and timing of life on Earth as described in Genesis 1?
- Do Genesis and actual human history reveal the events and timing for the End of Days?

Guest Post by the Author:
Millennials, Gen Y and Gen Z people aren't giving up on faith. They're reconciling Creation vs Evolution controversy in a way that suggests we can bridge other polarizing divides. The Pew Research Center survey found "that while 37% of those older than 65 thought that God created humans in their present form within the last 10,000 years," only 21% of respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 agreed.

At times, it can be confusing. Kids are taught evolution in school and creationism in Sunday school with both authorities claiming to be right.

As a university student, I furthered my scientific education. Initially, I came to think that science answered everything. But by my fourth year at university, fundamental questions concerning our origins and the development of the human species began to arise. In science texts, some answers were not available, some were strange, and some were so metaphysical they looked like religious answers. So, I went back to study religion, this time including the mystical component of interpretation, and answers to my questions began to surface. The intriguing journey along which these answers unfolded, and where they subsequently took my thinking, is also where I propose to take you in this book, The Biblical Clock.

Have you tried to discuss the topic with your teenage kids? This book has helped me clarify the topic to their satisfaction, despite my strong scientific background, having been trained as a physics engineer, working in space-related areas for 30 years, and my religious knowledge on the topic acquired over more than a decade of studies.

My new book, The Biblical Clock, deals with this topic head-on, in a new way. Others have used sound and persuading arguments to try to show that one side or the other is right. But this approach won’t work on our kids because, in the final analysis, neither side can completely prove their arguments. The Biblical Clock approaches the issue by showing that the two accounts (biblical and scientific) are indeed in agreement as to what happened and when it happened with respect to the development of the universe, evolution of human history and prophecies that surround the End of Days. The book provides more congruence between the two bodies of knowledge and a deeper understanding of our origins and our future. This book is just a step in that process.

As Hall of Fame Amazon Reviewer Grady Harp said:

Whether the reader enters this discussion from the purely religious side or from the purely scientific/secular side, the one (of many) points that Friedmann and Sheldon make is that there is no reason for combative separatism. Their honesty and humility are most welcome, no matter the preconceived notions of the reader.

Food for thought and for discussion during a period in our history when aspects of the origins debate and the Apocalypse seem to dominate.

After you read the book, you will be in a better position to discuss the topic with your kids, which was one of my motivations to write the book. Best of all, as a family, you can spend quality time having a discussion about science, religion, the future and the meaning and purpose of life.
