Enjoy Delicious Slow Cooker Recipes from Hearst Magazines!

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not a natural cook. I’m not one of those talented people who can take a random selection of ingredients and whip them into a delicious dinner. Therefore, I rely heavily on recipes when it comes to trying something new with my family. And the recipes have to be easy to follow and not too elaborate. That’s why I was thrilled to learn that Hearst Magazines publishes a series of “bookazines” with family-friendly recipes. I’ve always been a fan of the recipes in magazines like Good Housekeeping (a Hearst publication), so I’m pleased that Hearst is gathering the best of them into publications solely devoted to recipes.

One of these bookazines is called Slow Cooker, Plus Casseroles, Soups & Stews. This publication is perfect for me because using the slow cooker is an easy way to cook for a larger family like mine, but it doesn’t take a lot of effort. This book contains some yummy-looking chicken recipes (always a family favorite), like Coq au Vin, Carolina Pulled Chicken, Creamy Chicken & Potatoes, and Latin Chicken (with black beans and sweet potatoes). Delicious beef recipes include Beef Carbonnade (I’m really anxious to try this one), Chipotle Beef Chili, and BBQ Brisket with Cider Slaw. The recipes for Vegetarian Lasagna, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Maple Baked Beans, and Glazed Baby Back Ribs also look amazing!

In addition to the slow cooker recipes, this book contains fantastic recipes for casseroles, soups, and stews. I’m really excited to try the Mac & Cheese varieties, as well as interesting soups like Roasted Pumpkin and Cheddar Apple Bisque. There are 105 terrific recipes in Slow Cooker, Plus Casseroles, Soups & Stews. I also found the article, “12 Ways to Make Slow Cooking Even Easier,” very helpful. Valuable recommendations for slow cookers, dutch ovens, casserole dishes, and stockpots are also included.
