Random Acts of Zhu!

Just before the holidays, I was contacted by Cepia, LLC, the makers of ZhuZhu Pets and Kung Zhu, with an offer to receive 104 of their adorable toy hamsters! No, it wasn’t big payoff time for my twins. There was a catch: I got the honor of donating them to needy children through a charitable organization.

A friend of a friend works with a wonderful charity called 4KIDS of South Florida, and she was absolutely delighted to hear that the children they work with would be the recipients of their very own ZhuZhu Pets! 4KIDS helps to provide safe and loving places for children to go who are transitioning between a difficult home life and foster care.

Needless to say, the children were thrilled with their toys. The thank-you note we received said, “The toys that were donated reached so many children who otherwise would not have experienced a gift at Christmas! Thank you for sharing the real meaning of Christmas, which is ‘giving.’ Just one act of kindness can change a child’s life, a parent’s heart and a family’s joy! Thank you…”

And then they sent the following photos, accompanied by the words, “How can words ever express how much your generosity and kindness meant… Only the faces of those you touched can!” I don’t know how well you can see these pictures, but there are definitely some happy kids holding their ZhuZhu Pets hamsters!

Thank you to Cepia, LLC for making this all possible! It was a great honor to be selected as a participating blogger for the Random Acts of Zhu event!
