Children’s Book Review: Care for Creation, by Christy Baldwin

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 NIV). And now it’s our job to take good care of this wondrous world that God created! That’s the message in the children’s book, Care for Creation, by Christy Baldwin. Through the use of scripture passages and simple messages, we learn why it’s important to keep our planet clean, recycle, reduce air and water pollution, and much more.

Although there are plenty of books that teach kids how to be good stewards of the earth, Care for Creation is unique in that it teaches children that this is important to God. For instance, in Proverbs 12:10 (The Message), we learn that God wants us to care for the animals: “Good people are good to their animals…” Charming illustrations by Shelly Draven show children recycling, seeing windmills, and enjoying the wondrous things in our world.

Care for Creation concludes with suggested activities (pick up trash, start a garden, etc.) and discussion questions that parents and educators can share with children. This book is a seamless blend of the practical and the beautiful that will be enjoyed by the whole family. Visit www.CareForCreationBook.com to learn more about Care for Creation. 1. Aww, thanks Susan for a great review. It's always an honor and a privilege having your blog participate in our book tours. I'm happy that you enjoyed CARE FOR CREATION and for sharing it with your blog readers. We appreciate your support of the book.

I agree with you - there aren't a lot of children's books aimed at protecting the environment that take God into account, and I'm glad that we're able to fill that gap.

    Best wishes,
