Woman’s Day: Learning to Let Go and Find Your Better Self

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in the past, prevented from going forward because of fear, hurt, or just plain old comfort? I think a lot of women do this. It’s “safer” to stay in their current situation, even if it’s not the ideal one to be in. But for people who have the courage to let go of their past, they often find themselves moving forward and discovering their “better self.”

In the August issue of Woman’s Day, which is on newsstands now, they’ve devoted most of the issue to the concept of “Relaxing and Letting Go.” In the article, “The Reward of Letting Go,” we meet three women who allowed themselves to make life-altering changes in order to find themselves stronger and happier. One woman is starting a new life with her husband in New York City after they send their only child away to college. Another woman leaves a difficult marriage with her young child and finds that she can finally be her true self. And a third woman learns to let go of the pain of 20 years of rejection as a writer, only to find that miraculous changes begin to happen when she refuses to dwell in the past.

If you have a hard time letting go of the past or the status quo, I suggest that you pick up a copy of the August issue of Woman’s Day. It just might inspire you to “relax and let go”! And then, who knows what might happen?
