Kid’s Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol: An All-Natural Treatment for Nasal-Related Problems in Children

Even though we’re most likely through the worst of the allergy season, which tends to peak in April and May, many of us still suffer through the summer months. When we went to Alaska recently, my husband’s allergies really flared up, probably because he was being exposed to a lot of plants and flowers in the environment that we don’t have in our home state of Florida. As a child, I remember suffering from allergic rhinitis a lot. In fact, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 2 million school days are missed each year due to nasal allergy symptoms and 10,000 American children miss school because of allergic rhinitis. Allergy symptoms can be just as miserable as those caused by a virus and, even worse, they can last much longer!

As a mother, I worry about giving my kids a lot of medication. So, I’m always on the lookout for more natural ways of treating my children when they suffer from sneezing, runny noses, and more. I was recently introduced to a product called Kid’s Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol, which is an all-natural, non-addictive, over-the-counter product for children. Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener found in plants and fruits, and is produced in small amounts by the human body. A nasal spray with xylitol is designed to soothe and moisturize the nasal passages, which can help rinse away bacteria, allergens and pollutants. This could lead to fewer nasal-related problems for your children.

Dr. Alonzo Jones, D.O., a general practice physician and former clinical assistant professor of family medicine at Texas Tech University Medical School, developed Kid’s Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol. He offers the following preventive tips for helping your child to stay healthy:

• Teach children to wash their hands frequently. Contact spread is responsible for 80% of all infectious disease.
• Keep nasal passages clean. Kid’s Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol soothes and moisturizes nasal passages, which helps prevent bacteria and pollutants from adhering to nasal tissue.
• Drink more water. Adequate water helps the body cleanse itself in all areas.
• Provide a balanced lifestyle. Nutritious meals and the right amount of sleep go a long way toward children’s overall wellness.

  1. Absolutely awesome article Susan! Tons of great info about Xylitol. My wife and I give our daughter her dose everytime we change her diaper and she's had an ear infection or been sick thanks to this amazing stuff.
