Dinosaurs on the Move: A Great Book for the Dinosaur-Crazy Kid!

Is your kid dinosaur-crazy? One of my nephews, age 5, absolutely loves dinosaurs. And my two oldest boys went through dinosaur phases during which they collected anything related to dinosaurs. Now my six-year-old twins are into them, so they were very excited to get a new book called Dinosaurs on the Move: Movable Paper Figures to Cut, Color, and Assemble, by Cathy Diez-Luckie. The awesome thing about this book is that it allows them to create their own dinosaurs! This 48-page book contains 25 color illustrations of dinosaurs, along with 10 black-and-white illustrations that kids can color themselves. They then cut out the dinosaur body parts and assemble them into a full dinosaur using a 1/8-inch hole punch and fasteners. (We bought ours at Michael’s.)

My boys love playing with their dinosaurs. They imagine that they’re doing battle with each other, and they love that the body parts are movable. Best of all, they’re also learning a lot about dinosaurs. Each illustration is based on authentic dinosaur fossils and skeletons, and an introduction in the book includes facts about their habitat, diet, size, and other features.

If your kids are crazy about dinosaurs, I highly recommend Dinosaurs on the Move! Go to to learn more about this fantastic book and order a copy. Cathy Diez-Luckie is also the author of another awesome book with movable paper figures: Famous Figures of Ancient Times, and more books are in the works!
