May Is National Foster Care Month: How Can You Help?

Most people who consider adoption think about infants, and the process can sometimes take years. But did you know that there are more than 123,000 children waiting for adoption in the foster care system? And the children are of all ages, from babies to teens.

AdoptUsKids encourages anyone who is considering adoption or becoming a foster parent to go to http://adoptuskids.org/content.aspx?q=National-Foster-Care-Month for more information about National Foster Care Month and adoption through the foster care system. You can also watch a video that profiles “Children in Foster Care” and learn how you can get involved.

If you’re on Twitter, you can join the AdoptUsKids chat on May 27 at 2:00 p.m. to learn more about National Foster Care Month. Use the hashtag #AdoptUsKids.

It would take less than 1% of the U.S. population to provide a family for every child in foster care! Every child deserves a loving home with caring parents. Perhaps fostering or adopting is right for you and your family!
