If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I am not a cook. In fact, I hate to cook! And one of the reasons is that the whole menu-planning process is intimidating to me. What should I make? What ingredients do I need? How do I get out of the rut of making the same things all the time? It’s just overwhelming to me. And then I heard about Relish!
Relish! is an online meal-planning service for busy parents. It is amazing! Here’s how it works: Every Thursday, they post a new selection of recipes. You get an email reminder to go to their site and pick five meals you like from a selection of 15, plus a dessert. You input how many people you’ll be serving, and they generate a complete shopping list for you along with the recipes. None of the recipes takes more than 30 minutes to prepare! (That’s definitely my kind of meal. The less time I spend in the kitchen, the better!)
The recipes are labeled with helpful symbols like KF for Kid Friendly, C for Crockpot and V for Vegetarian. This really helps in choosing the kind of recipe you want. If there’s a recipe that was a real hit with your family, you can put it in your Favorites Folder and add it into your weekly menu any time you want to make it again. You can also add in your own recipes, and they’ll automatically incorporate the ingredients into your grocery list whenever you select them. They also offer monthly freezer meals that you can make and freeze so you always have meals on hand.
This is such a cool site! They’re always adding something new, like extra recipes, cooking tips, and more. And they are so reasonable. If you sign up for three months, it’s just $21. Save 15% for a six-month subscription ($35.70) and save 30% for a year’s subscription ($58.80)! That’s only about $1.13 a week to plan your family’s meals, help them eat healthier, decrease your shopping anxiety, and save you money. Just go to www.relishrelish.com to sign up.

I am so terrible at planning a menu and shopping for it, so I feel like I'm always scrambling to get dinner made. This would really, really help me out.

I do plan weekly menus, but I struggle often with how to get new things on there that the family will eat. This sounds like a really great tool! Thanks!

I have 6 kids, 2 sets of twins and a deployed husband. Oh, and I hate to cook too! Is that enough reasons to love this meal planning service?
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to cooking, I am the complete antithesis of Julia Child! Not only am I terrible about planning, but I'm terrible cooking too. But, this is really doing damage to the eating habits of my family and things have to change. I've recently committed to cooking at least 2 meals a week, but I need all the help I can get. Simple, but yummy recipes and a must have shopping guide such like what RelishRelish.com offer would be perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteI always forget something food shopping, so love the idea of having a list pre-made for me!

This would be perfect for our family. I tried making a menu for a week a few months ago and it worked for awhile but I just couldn't come up with meals. I always make the same thing every week and it gets so boring. I would love new ideas and for someone to do the meal planning for me.

This would help me and my family. I work full time and have two very active boys that keep us busy outside of work. A menu planning service would help me get great meals on the table every evening.
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for our family because we have a new baby and don't have time to start dinner until after 7 each night. I hate making a grocery list and I hate thinking about what to make for dinner so this will be perfect for us! I can't wait for you to pick me so I can try this out.

ReplyDeleteI like having a weekly menu to work from, but I don't like having to create it. Plus, I'd love to be a little more creative with my menu items and try some new things. It sounds like Relish would accomplish all of that.

Like most people, my life is hectic and I don't have time to plan meals. Meals come last after taking care of my chronically ill child, work and unexpected interruptions during the day. I'd love to have it all organized/planned for me with minimal effort on my part!

Even though I'm a mom and a cookbook author (The Moms' Guide to Meal Makeovers), I know how tough it can be to plan weekly meals for the family. We have a great repertoire of recipes ... but I'm always looking for more! Great giveaway.
