Day 8: The 12 Days Til My Birthday Giveaway

Welcome to Day 8 of my birthday giveaway! Today’s book is one that I had the privilege to co-write:

Boosting Your Baby’s Brain Power
By Holly Engel-Smothers and Susan M. Heim

Book Description:

With more than 100 billion neurons that would stretch more than 60,000 miles, a newborn baby’s brain is quite phenomenal! These neurons must generally form connections within the first eight months of a baby’s life to foster optimal brain growth and lifelong learning. Mommies, daddies, and caregivers are extremely vital to ensuring babies reach their full potential, and this parent guidebook offers easy-to-do techniques for developing and nurturing maximum brain power during the essential early years. Topics include:

• Factors that influence brain growth in the womb
• Fattening up the brain
• Windows of opportunity
• Development of language, vision, hearing and motor skills
• Red flags in your baby’s development
• Uncovering your baby’s temperament
• Attachment and bonding

Boosting Your Baby’s Brain Power is a Mom’s Choice Award Silver Recipient, a 2009 Arizona Book Award Finalist, and winner of an iParenting Media Award for the “2009 Best Products”!

To enter to win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment answering the question:

What activities have you done with your baby (or plan to do) that will encourage his or her intellectual and/or physical development?

One winner will be randomly selected from the qualified entries received by September 22, 2009, at midnight EST. One entry per person please. Make sure you leave an email address if it’s not on your Blogger page. Winners have 72 hours to respond or a new winner will be selected.
