ALTAR EGOS Arrives on DVD on September 5th ~ Enter to Win It!

ALTAR EGOS
DVD Release: Tuesday, September 5, 2017

About the Film
Desperate to see their church grow, Pastor John (Robert Amaya, MOM’S NIGHT OUT, COURAGEOUS) and wife Betsy (Erin Bethea, FIREPROOF) do the unthinkable and change their church Christmas pageant. Flabbergasted, elderly choir director Mary Margaret (Sallie Wanchisn) leads the choir to boycott. Facing termination, Pastor John resorts to disguising himself as an old man to bridge the generation gap, win over Mary, and lead the choir back to the church. When he discovers that the wounds run deeper than he first suspected, Pastor John must learn to love the unlovable or risk the ruin of his church and family. Also stars Victoria Jackson (SNL).

ALTAR EGOS will release on DVD nationwide on Tuesday, 9/5/17.

My Review
This movie was great because it reflected what truly goes on in many churches: trying to please everyone, people resisting change, difficulties in growing the congregation, and more. In this case, the younger pastor wanted to introduce some changes in the church to try to bring in more families and young people while the older people of the church wanted things to stay the same. Pastor John's attempts to get more information from the older generation by disguising himself as one of them probably wouldn't happen in a real church, but it was certainly humorous and a fun way to look at a realistic situation. Pastor John also dragged his teenage son into his deceit, which caused further problems when the son wanted to date a certain girl but wasn't free to do so because of his charade. Altar Egos is good, clean fun and a great movie for the entire family. It may also serve to open conversations in churches about change and bringing different generations together.

  7. I liked the part with the old lady threatening him over the choir. I have been in church for years and I know how territorial some folks can get over what they think is their job.

  18. I like the scene at the end of the 1st clip. He (the preacher) is undercover and says to the lady who was over the choir that he heard they had a great preacher and the lady was like shaking her head saying "Who told you that?" I just laughed.
