Fortunately, our family has not experienced the effects of fire, but we knew a family whose house burned down when they were on vacation. They lost just about everything, and it took them years to rebuild and replace what they had lost. Many things, such as family photos and heirlooms, were irreplaceable. It doesn’t matter how a fire starts -- whether it’s an electrical issue, lightning or a wildfire -- the results can be devastating. So, it’s important for families to think about ways they keep their valuables safe, particularly during October -- Fire Safety Month.
It’s good to know that Master Lock has a large number of products to protect your home and its contents from fire, flood, theft or other tragedies. Let me highlight a few of them:
SentrySafe Fire Safe with Alarm (SFW123TSC)
When it comes to fires, you can get up to $50,000 in insurance protection for your valuables when you enroll in the SentrySafe Fire Protection Guarantee. This safe is UL Classified to survive in a fire for one hour in temperatures up to 1700°F, but if you do lose your safe in a fire, SentrySafe will replace it for free.
Our family has a SentrySafe Fire Safe with Alarm, and it really gives me peace of mind to know that our important documents, family treasures, and other items are much less vulnerable to theft, flood or fire. With a multi-positional shelf, it’s easy to keep our items organized, too.
Master Lock 5422D Push Button Portable Key Safe
Master Lock 5422D Push Button Portable Key Safe provides secure storage of keys (or access cards) and offers a protective weather cover to prevent freezing or jamming. I love that this product is keyless because you can just give the combination to someone who needs access to your home, such as a Realtor, dog walker, house sitter or guests. The large buttons make it easy to use and see the buttons. And I like that this product is portable, so you can use it in multiple places, such as a vacation home or loan it to a friend.

These are just a few of the many products from Master Lock to help protect your home, property and valuables from fire, theft, or flood. During Fire Safety Month, I recommend that you think about how your belongings might be vulnerable during a fire and check out the Master Lock website at masterlock.com to consider what products might be useful in your home or office.
