Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda: Helping Rwandan Families Build a Sustainable Business for Future Generations (GIVEAWAY)

I love to support companies that help bring people out of poverty, and Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda does exactly that. Founded by Grace Hightower (wife of Robert De Niro), these coffees help to celebrate and support the coffee farmers of Rwanda. Through the use of direct sourcing, fair trade, ethical practices and environmental stewardship, the coffee farmers of Rwanda are creating a sustainable business that can be passed from one generation to the next. Check out this heartwarming “LOVE” video to see what I mean:

Despite having to recover from a terrible genocide in their country, the people of Rwanda, as Grace Hightower points out in her video, want “trade not aid.” They want to be able to work for themselves and build something that lasts, not take handouts. So, purchasing and drinking Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda products is not only a great way to have a delicious cup of coffee, but it can actually have a major impact on the welfare of people who are working to rebuild a country for their families.

Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda are available in 4 blends: medium light roast, medium dark roast, espresso roast, and Signature Series. The Signature Series blend I sampled was fantastic. The product is described as “a collection of small-lot coffees that are selected from producers who exemplify the finest cultivation practices of their region. Each coffee is custom roasted to highlight its individual flavor characteristics.” It truly is a delicious coffee, and my husband and I have been enjoying it every morning.

Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda can be found at specialty stores including Whole Foods and at www.coffeeofgrace.com. I hope you’ll pick up some of their coffee to help the people of Rwanda and spread the word! And be sure to follow on Twitter and Facebook, too.
