Children’s Book Review and Giveaway: Zoe’s Room (No Sisters Allowed), by Bethanie Deeney Murguia (3 Winners) #ZoesRoom

I grew up with one sister (who was younger than me by just 11 months), and we shared a bedroom until we started middle school, so I could really relate to the new children’s book, Zoe’s Room (No Sisters Allowed), by Bethanie Deeney Murguia. It’s about a little girl who loves to play pretend games in her room after bedtime, but they’re suddenly put to a halt when her little sister moves into her room! Now Zoe’s after-hours block-stacking, tea parties and star-gazing wake up little Addie, and her parents aren’t happy! Will Zoe ever be able to do the things she loves in her room now that little Sis is sharing it? The adorable video below provides a sneak peek at this book:

This is a wonderful story to read to little siblings who must share a room, especially if they’re having trouble adjusting. Parents can use it as a springboard to start a discussion about sharing, compromise, and boundaries. And, lessons aside, it’s a sweet tale with lovely illustrations (also by Bethanie Deeney Murguia) that will delight young children. A perfect bedtime read!

I hope you’ll pick up a copy of Zoe’s Room (No Sisters Allowed), along with the first book in the series, Zoe Gets Ready. Learn more about these books and author/illustrator Bethanie Deeney Murguia at www.aquapup.com.
