Budget cuts are everywhere, and they’re felt very keenly in our schools as more and more programs are faced with lower budgets or even eliminated. Can you imagine what $17,500 could do for your local high school? State Farm Insurance Companies wants to give people the opportunity to help support their high school through their Friday Night Feats contest. This national high school football video contest aims to get schools and communities to a better state.
From August 25 until November 28, 2011, fans, coaches, players and community members over age 14 can submit videos to the State Farm Friday Night Feats contest page, www.FridayNightFeats.com, to be considered as the best Friday night feat of the 2011 high school football season! So, what’s a Friday Night Feat? According to State Farm, “A Friday Night Feat is a big moment -- a bold, athletic and impactful play displaying teamwork and athleticism on the high school football field. It can be a one-handed grab in the end zone, an interception, bone-crushing block or any valiant effort on the gridiron.”
If you’ve got a video that meets this criteria, it’s simple to enter. Just visit FridayNightFeats.com or the Friday Night Feats Facebook application to upload your video, and then get all of your friends, family and community members to vote! What can your school win? Cash prizes are $15,000 for first place, $10,000 for second place and $5,000 for third place. Each finalist nominee (four from each of State Farm’s 13 zones) wins $2,500. Full rules are available on www.FridayNightFeats.com. Join the conversation on Twitter at @FriNightFeats. Check out the video below.
