Join the LIFE Foundation to Support Life Insurance Awareness Month Through the “Insure Your Love Picture Mosaic”

As an editor for Chicken Soup for the Soul, I read a lot of true stories about families that are severely impacted by illness and loss. Reading about other people’s experiences makes me grateful for my blessings, but also causes me to consider the consequences if something tragic happened in my own family. This is a subject that everyone should think about, especially if they have young children. Who will care for them if we can’t? And how will their needs be met? Fortunately, my husband and I have purchased life insurance, which will make life just a little bit easier for our children if something happens. But it saddens me to know that 11 million U.S. households with children under the age of 18 have no life insurance coverage (LIMRA study).

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, which makes it the ideal time to think about protecting your family in the event of a loss. The nonprofit LIFE Foundation has created an “Insure Your Love Picture Mosaic” to applaud those families who have made the decision to purchase life insurance. People who visit the LIFE Foundation’s Facebook fan page are encouraged to upload up to 20 photos of their loved ones to celebrate the fact that their financial future has been safeguarded by their decision to purchase life insurance.

And by participating in the “Insure Your Love Picture Mosaic,” you’re also supporting a great cause. For each photo uploaded, $1 will be donated to the LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program to provide tuition assistance to students who have lost a parent and need help in financing their dream of a college education.
