An Easy and Patriotic Craft for Kids to Commemorate 9/11 from

One good way to facilitate a discussion about important events and holidays is to engage kids in a related craft. While you’re working together to create something special, you can talk about the meaning of your creation and why the day is important. is a new website that showcases wonderful arts-and-crafts projects for all ages. I love their step-by-step directions and photos that make it easy for anyone to create a work of art. They even have a forum where you can talk to other crafters about projects! All of the products featured on are available at Walmart in the Kids Crafts aisle.

Of course, the tenth anniversary of 9/11 has been a major topic in the news, and many families are getting together to talk about this event and commemorate it. On, I found an idea for a Patriotic Key Chain that kids can make to show their pride in being American. Here’s a picture of the Patriotic Key Chain that I made with my son!

Other patriotic crafts on include a Patriotic Sparkle Headband, a Bald Eagle Magnet, and a Red, White and Blue Spiral Knot Bracelet. This is a fantastic site for parents, kids, teachers, and anyone who loves arts-and-crafts or just being creative! I hope you’ll check out today and make a Patriotic Key Chain with your kids to commemorate 9/11.
