Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, and I’m really curious to find out what this game is all about because it’s described as a “boldly innovative adventure game” where you can “bring your toys to life”! It’s a combination of real-world interaction figures and a video game. This story-driven adventure was written by Academy Award-nominated Toy Story writers, Joel Cohen and Alec Solkolow. In the game, players can assume the role of a powerful Portal Master who can control more than 30 different characters, including the fire-breathing dragon, Spyro.
A really unique feature of this game is that it has “cross-platform playability.” That means that if your child has the game for Wii, for example, he can take his Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure toys over to his friend’s house and resume the game while maintaining his own customization and upgrades -- even if his friend’s game is on the Xbox 360 or some other platform! Believe me, kids will LOVE that feature!
Each of the interaction figures is classified by a type of element -- earth, air, fire, water, life, undead, magic, and tech. And, of course, each has its own personality, powers and abilities. Players can choose different ones depending on which enemies, obstacles or puzzles they are facing. Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure will be available on October 16, 2011 for Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows PC! Visit www.skylandersgame.com to learn more.
