My 7-year-old son, Austen, loves to color and draw, so this project was perfect for him! I sent his name to Aesop’s Garden, along with the name “Grandma,” and they soon emailed our personalized coloring book to us! Here are some pages from the book, Far Apart, Close Together:
Austen quickly got to work coloring this 12-page story about him and his grandma. He colored a few pages a day so that he didn’t get tired and would do a good job. When he finished, the pages looked like this!
Our next task was to bind the book. The coloring book came with “binding instructions” that were very easy to follow. Of course, you can just staple the coloring book together if you wish, but the special binding adds a nice extra touch to the project that your recipient will love. Here’s Austen with his final product!
Don’t tell Austen’s grandma, but we’re going to send this book to her for Christmas! Austen is so proud that he made his gift all by himself, and I know that his grandmother will be thrilled to see that it’s been personalized, and Austen put a lot of love and work into it.
There are two other coloring book options at www.aesopsgarden.com. And if you visit their blog at www.aesopsgarden.com/blog, you’ll find a fun “craftivity” called “Tangled Tie-Dyed Brontosauruses”! Sign up to receive an email every time they add a new craftivity to the site. There was also a craftivity included with our personalized coloring book for making a paper airplane.
