I would use half of the card to help buy diapers and wipes for my friend-she has a 5 month old and she is only 30 years old dealing with liver cancer-she needs all the help and prayers she can get.

And the other half of the card i would help give a baby shower for my next door neighbor- she is having a financial crisis and the home she is renting is getting foreclosed on her-so she is having to move-ugh....This could really help her and her family out.

thanks- sorry google wont let me leave comments

  34. I don't know anyone that is preggers and am not really into showers anyway, but I am into charity. There is this free store down the street from where I live where people in need go to get stuff for babies and children for free. They are referred there by social services too, so they have to meet strict guidelines to be offered the free goodies. I would go to the Dollar Tree and buy all I could with the GC and donate it all to that free store!

  72. Baby showers are so great. I would throw a huge shower for my friend. She is in need of some help right now. As a mom of two kids and having many friends and family members having had babies, I have some tips to have a fun shower on a limited budget. First off, the invitations- I like to use evite or Facebook invitation so it is free. There is no need to waste money sending out invitations with paper and stamps. As for decorations, who doesn’t like a diaper cake? I also like to go to the dollar store and purchase decor for a really great price- who can beat $1? I also like to use things that we already have around the house, or borrow items that family members have for decorations (table centerpieces and other items). Food is always a fun part of a shower. I would do a little hawaain style food. Hawaiian haystacks (cooked rice topped with a chicken and sauce mixture) in addition to various toppings which you build yourself buffet style (cheese, olives, onions, pineapple, hard noodles, tomatoes, carrots, celery, cucumber, bell peppers). The drinks would be water and then a punch mixture that is really good- sherbet ice cream, red fruit punch, ice and Sprite. As for gifts, baby registries are great. And you can never go wrong with diapers. My first baby shower I let everyone know that if they didnt get anything off the registry, diapers were much appreciated. Sure enough I got plenty of diapers. Games- who doesn’t like that game with the clothes pins? You know the game. You can’t say “baby” or the name of the soon to be born baby. It is so funny to see who wins by the end of the shower. I also would put together a memory baby game. I did this for my shower and it was so fun. You go buy a bunch of candy bars with different names that you can incorporate with the baby theme. example- the baby square would say baby’s college tuition and if the person matches up two squares that match, they would get a hundred grand candy bar. It gets so fun and everyone gets really excited!

  76. There is a family that moved on our street withing the last couple of weeks that I would gift this to.
She is eight months pregnant and they have four other children but nothing for a baby.
Her oldest daughter (11) is friends with my daughter and visits daily.
I recently found out that they don't have their water turned on yet as her daughter was asking if she could shower here.
And I don't mind at all. But later was told by my daughter that they haven't had their water connected as yet.
I also have her bring her siblings here to play and for a big snack. That way I know that they are eating well at least when they are here.
Do I would gift this to their family and offer to take them where they need to go in order to use it for water, food, and things for the upcoming baby.

I would go and purchase baby items and surprise her with them. She has always been the person that helps others, and she tried to have a baby for over 8 years. They had just given up hope of her having one, when she became pregnant.

This would make a huge difference in her life.

I’m not sure of the theme, I’d have to do some recon to find out what her thoughts are on the room design. I know the bedding she registered for has a zoo animal theme so something along those lines, I think.

I know she’d be touched by the gesture and very appreciative of the baby shower and gifts!

  160. I absolutely love throwing parties and especially baby showers! I have planned quite a few already and would love to host one for a family in need! I would secretly invite everyone in the neighborhood, whether they know the family or not, and invite them to bring a gift to help the family with their new little surprise miracle. The feeling I would get from helping someone in need would be wonderful. I was given a baby shower when I wasn't too well off and it was such a great surprise and much appreciated so I know how the family would feel about me hosting one for them! The soon to be momma would be showered with gifts, needed ones and fun ones as well. Also everyone would bring a dish for them to freeze so they have some meals when the baby comes! This would be so much fun to do!

Right now, I think the most therapeutic thing for her would be a girl's lunch and spa day, something just for her, not focused solely on the babies.

  178. I think the best way to support a family in need with the gift card would be to buy staples like diapers, baby clothes, and formula, or larger ticket items like a car seat or carriage. The expenses of a new child can really add up, so a family going through a rough time financially would definitely benefit from such help. Thanks!
