Join General Mills and Lee Ann Womack in Helping Malawian Families Rise Out of Poverty

Are you still looking for a deserving cause to support this holiday season? Look no further, because I have a wonderful one for you. It’s General Mills’ Join My Village (JMV) program, which funds economic and educational opportunities for girls and women in Malawian villages. They’re being joined by country superstar Lee Ann Womack to get the word out about this very worthy initiative. (Womack has set a personal goal of rallying 100,000 of her fans to join the effort during her upcoming 18-city tour with George Strait and Reba McEntire next year!)

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Life expectancy is 44 years of age. Forty percent of the population lives below the poverty line. Only 50% of Malawian women are able to read and write. However, studies have shown that investing in women and girls can have a huge impact on their families, communities and countries.

Join My Village gives YOU the power to release up to $500,000 of General Mills charitable dollars for economic and educational opportunities for women and girls in Malawi. And guess what? All it takes from you is a simple CLICK. Throughout the year, if you sign up on the JMV page, you will be invited to participate by clicking, texting, or viewing content that will help to get more followers. If everyone clicks, we can all become more aware and move one step closer to ending global poverty.

Please go to www.joinmyvillage.com and “click to commit”! Sign up on the website and enter the following code in the “Group Code” field: 1SHJMV. And please spread the word by tweeting, posting and talking about the Join My Village initiative. Why? Because girls matter. I hope you’ll help.
