Christmas Tree Preservation Tips from Clorox

With so many families bringing freshly cut trees into their homes for the Christmas holiday, many may wonder how to keep the tree fresh through the end of year. Clorox would like you to know that one way to prolong the life of a fresh cut Christmas tree is to use a bleach solution in the tree stand. Here’s the “recipe”:

• 2 teaspoons of Clorox® Regular Bleach
• 1/2 gallon hot water
• 1 cup corn syrup
• 1/8 cup powdered chelated iron (available from local nurseries)

Did you know that a bleach solution can also be used in other ways to prepare for the holidays? For other fun and unconventional ways to use Clorox® Bleach throughout the home, check out Clorox.com or the Amazing Uses page.
