Children’s Book Review and Giveaway: Who Said Coo?

If you’re looking for a beautiful and enchanting hardcover children’s book to give as a gift for the holidays, I have the perfect recommendation: Who Said Coo? by Deborah Ruddell and illustrated by Robin Luebs. In this book, little Lulu the pig is trying to go to sleep, but she keeps hearing mysterious sounds! When she hears a “coo,” she blames her friend Pigeon, who refuses to answer. When she hears a “whooo,” she blames her friend Owl, but he is mum, too! So when Lulu is interrupted yet again -- by a “moo” this time -- she races out to tell her naughty friends to “shoo”! Back in bed, she hears a “boo hoo,” and then another. She has hurt her poor friends’ feelings! Feeling remorseful, she invites them in for cocoa and a warm bed, and they go to sleep. Until, that is, they hear a “cock-a-doodle-doo”! This time, Lulu knows better than to be rude to a friend and kindly asks Rooster to return later, which she does. There’s a cute little surprise on the last page, which I’ll let you discover for yourself!

  23. Getting my boys to relax into sleep mode is a challenge. They like the bedtime books we have, but I think they are getting tired of them (not sleepy tired, though) as they are starting to slide off my lap when they get distracted or bored. I need new selections. Thanks! goodwitchglinda at gmail dot com
