Movie Night: On Friday or Saturday night, we pick a family-friendly movie and settle down in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn! Last weekend, we all watched the original Nanny McPhee movie. It was great!
Game Night: Whenever my parents visit, we break out the Scrabble board. This is a great way to involve my teenagers in a family-oriented activity and involve multiple generations.
Beach Day: There’s something for everybody at the beach! We’re fortunate to live near the ocean, so we head over there a few times a month for a family-friendly -- and budget-friendly -- day!
Fun Event: I seek out local events that the family can attend together. For example, I recently wrote about taking the kids to a Turtle Hatchling Release where we watched baby turtles being released into the ocean.
Make Your Own Pizza: Friday night is pizza night at our house. Sometimes, we’ll make individual pizzas and let everyone select their own toppings. This is a lot of fun and a great way to empower kids to make their own meals!
