Encourage Kids to Explore the Great Outdoors with Backyard Safari Outfitters Gear!

Summer is a great time for outdoor exploration. My twin boys, age 6, absolutely love to be outdoors. They’re always bringing me “treasures,” like caterpillars and rocks. Backyard Safari Outfitters carries a fabulous line of products designed to encourage your Little Explorers to enjoy the outdoors!

We were recently given the opportunity to review several items from the Backyard Safari Outfitters line, and my boys were so eager to try them! One of the items we received was a Cargo Vest, which Caleb slipped on right away. (See photos.) It’s adorable, and provides plenty of pockets and hooks for kids to store their binoculars, Pop-Up Field Guide (provided), and other outdoor gear!

Another item my kids loved was the Mega View Periscope. It stretches more than four feet high so kids can see out way over their heads. (See photo at left.) I also love that it’s submersible so children can dip the end underwater and look for fish, tadpoles and more. (Please make sure your child is supervised near the water.) We can’t wait to take this to the beach and try this feature! In the meantime, my kids had a lot of fun ducking behind furniture and trying to spot each other on the other side.

Finally, my boys have been entranced with the Bug Vacuum! This enables you to suck up bugs alive and get a closer look at them through the built-in magnifying glass. You can also purchase a Backyard Safari Bug Habitat to temporarily house the bugs. My kids caught a moth on their first “expedition” and had a lot of fun checking it out up-close.

Backyard Safari Outfitters has many other great items for kids, such as a Dual Power Flashlight, Campfire Glow Lantern, Super Wide-View Mega Magnifier, Field Binoculars, Firefly Attractor, and more! Go to www.summittoy.com to check them out. Backyard Safari Outfitters products are also available at Toys ‘R’ Us, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, and Target.

This summer, get the kids outdoors for some “nature play.” They’ll get some exercise, learn about the natural world and science, and have lots of fun!
