The LIFE series is a follow-up to another amazing series called PLANET EARTH, which was the most successful natural history documentary ever shown when it aired on TV in 2007. This series took more than four years to produce, using 71 photographers filming across 204 locations in 62 countries over 2,000 days in the field!
Now, in celebration of Earth Day’s historic 40th anniversary on April 22nd, BBC Earth is offering PLANET EARTH’s first episode (“Pole to Pole”) for free instant download on iTunes for a limited time! It starts today and ends on April 26, 2010 (U.S. residents only).
This is a wonderful opportunity to see some of the most beautiful creatures and scenery on our planet. And if you fall in love with the first episode, you can purchase the whole series for only $19.90 in standard definition and $29.90 in high-def until April 26.

I love the series. Isn't Oprah the narrator? If I'm thinking of the same series, then my 15-year-old stated he didn't think her voice fit and I must say I agree. Perhaps we are so used to certain types of voices that we get distracted when they don't fit. What do you think?
