I’ve never been a big fan of traditional moisturizers. My skin has been on the oily side for most of my life, and I hate how heavy most moisturizers feel on my skin. But now that I’m in my mid-forties, I know how important it is to take good care of my skin.
So, I was really excited when I was contacted by a representative from Skin MD Natural and offered the chance to try their “shielding lotion” for face, hands and body. They call it a “shielding lotion” because it actually bonds to the outer layer of the skin, which creates a barrier against all of the toxins, pollutants and irritants in our environment that can dry out our skin and cause problems like eczema, psoriasis, acne and more.
Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion contains natural ingredients such as aloe vera (an anti-inflammatory and healing agent), Arnica Montana (used for treating inflammation and bruising), chamomile (which is anti-inflammatory and antiseptic) and Vitamin E (an anti-oxidant). I’m all for natural products, but I also wanted to be sure that a) it works and b) it doesn’t feel heavy.
I’m happy to report that Skin MD passed both of my criteria for a great product for my skin. It makes my skin feel wonderful, and it’s the lightest lotion I’ve ever used! It’s so light that it barely feels like I’m putting on lotion, and just a little bit covers a large area. I really love the way my skin feels after putting on Skin MD. It doesn’t feel oily at all, just soft and smooth. And it has a really light, pleasant scent, which I like because I’m also not a fan of lotions with a heavy perfume smell. I’m really glad I was able to try Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion, and I plan to continue using it in the future!
Skin MD Natural products are available in many stores (there’s a store locator on their website), as well as at www.skinmdnatural.com.

Daily use of most soaps and cleansers can greatly reduce your skin's natural ability to repel the thousands of irritants and toxins that are commonly found in the home and work place. Once these irritants penetrate your outer layer of skin they can cause dry skin conditions, eczema, psoriasis, skin allergies and many other less desirable skin and health problems. Thanks.

I learned that it works great for psoriasis!
ReplyDeleteI learned the primary ingredient is Octyl methoxycinnamate (INCI), or octinoxate (USAN). It is an organic compound that is an ingredient in some sunscreens and lip balms. It is an ester formed from methoxycinnamic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. It is a clear liquid that is insoluble in water. In studies, this ingredient was shown to have a low acute toxicity, is non-irritating and non-sensitizing.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe in Google reader.
