Create Your Own Modeling Clay with the Help of Elmer’s Glue!

Here’s another great idea from Elmer’s that you can use to make Valentine’s crafts (like the one at left) with your kids. In fact, home-made clay can be used for many holidays and projects!

Skill Level: Easy to Moderate

Time Needed: 1 and a half hours

Age(s): 5 to 12

Supplies Needed:

• Elmer’s Glue-All™
• Flour
• Cornstarch
• Small Bowl
• Acrylic Paint
• Paintbrush
• Ribbon or String

Instructions:

1. Combine 1/4 cup of Elmer’s Glue-All™, 1/4 cup of cornstarch, and 1/4 cup of flour in a small bowl. Mix together.

2. Knead the mixture until it forms into clay.

3. Form the clay into any shape that you’d like. Store your piece of clay in an air-tight container until it is hard and dry. This usually takes 1 to 2 days.

4. Paint your piece of clay and decorate it. Let the paint dry completely.
