Happy 2009! I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s. To celebrate the new year on Susan Heim on Parenting, my first giveaway of 2009 is fabulous! Jim Cosgrove, also known as “Mr. Stinky Feet,” has agreed to give a copy of his newest children’s CD, Upside Down, to four lucky families. If you haven’t heard any of his music yet, you and your children are in for an enormous treat!
Jim Cosgrove -- who got his nickname, “Mr. Stinky Feet,” following the success of his 1999 release called Stinky Feet -- has delighted audiences throughout North America and Europe for the past decade, including two performances at The White House. His recordings have earned five national Parents’ Choice Awards, a National Parenting Publications Award, and two Parent-to-Parent Adding Wisdom Awards.
Cosgrove’s brand-new CD, Upside Down, his seventh release, celebrates the wondrous (and sometimes topsy-turvy) moments in a kid’s life, like discovering a Pizza Tree in the backyard, watching bugs party in the basement, swinging as high as the sky, and scribbling outside the lines. This collection of songs includes “Let’s Stick Together,” a tune inspired by (and performed with) his 3-1/2-year-old daughter Lyda after her little sister Willa suffered skull fractures and brain swelling when she was only two months old after being hit by a line-drive foul ball at a professional baseball game.

Want to hear some of Jim Cosgrove’s music? Just go to http://www.jimcosgrove.com/music.htm and click on the many tunes he has available. My twins and I were laughing and dancing around when we heard music from Mr. Stinky Feet’s Road Trip, Mr. Stinky Feet’s Christmas, Ooey Gooey, Bop Bop Dinosaur, and more!
We’ve become huge fans of Mr. Stinky Feet, and I know you will, too! You can even book him for your next festival, school assembly, educator conference, corporate event (yes, he does keynote speeches for adults, too!) and even symphony concert! Jim often travels with his band, The Hiccups.
So, how can you win a copy of Upside Down? Head over to Jim Cosgrove’s website at www.jimcosgrove.com and click on the music tab. Listen to some of his great tunes and come back here to tell me which song you and your kids loved best. (If you can’t decide, you can pick more than one, but you have to put them all in one comment!) To win additional entries, you can:
1) Put a button for Susan Heim on Parenting on your blog. Post a comment with your blog’s URL.
2) Tweet this giveaway on Twitter or post it on your blog. Leave a comment with your Twitter name or a link to the post.
3) Subscribe to Susan Heim on Parenting via email, RSS or as a Follower on Blogger. Leave a comment with your subscription method.
This gives you four chances to win one of four CDs. Four winners will be randomly selected on Monday, January 12, 2009, from the valid comments received.

Even if you don’t win, I strongly encourage you to visit Mr. Stinky Feet’s store at http://www.jimcosgrove.com/store/. You can download Upside Down for only $6! Other downloads are also available, as well as autographed and sales items. Shipping in the United States is free!
CONTEST CLOSED. Congratulations to the winners: mrs.mommyy, ZESTYWONDERLAND, Karen, and Christina G.!
